First Date With Young Galaxy
Former Stars member Stephen Ramsey and Catherine McCandless formed Young Galaxy in 2005. They describe their music as "warm silver flames shooting out of your speakers, gently cupping your nether regions." If that doesn't entice you, I don't know what will...
Above is their EPK [electronic press kit]. It's kind of a "getting to know you" video, and it takes you through their song writing process, recording their album and getting the band together [3 Steves in one band!].
They say that they formed Young Galaxy because they had been apart for so long with Stephen touring with the Stars for 2 years, so "it was either quit music or start a band." This was the "lesser of two evils." That's about as good a reason as any I've heard to start a band!
Look for Young Galaxy out on Art & Crafts on April 24, 2007.
And catch them at the Mercury Lounge (with Cloud Cult) next Sunday, April 15th!
