Sha Sha-ing!

Last night [July 30th], Ben Kweller performed his first album Sha Sha in order, in its entirety at Southpaw. And it was amazing. BK is currently on tour with what he's dubbed the Trio on the Train Track, which means him, Chris Morrissey on bass and Mark Stepro on drums. They had so much energy last night, and were so excited to be doing this 3-night stint. And the crowd was psyched! I've never seen a crowd sing along to every word of every song before.



BK wore the polka dot/black shirt combo that he wore on the Sha Sha album art, and even came out with the hat and a red toothbrush! He also told the audience the story behind some of the songs and gave out some treats from his Sha Sha Box.

They encored with requests: "On My Way," "Sundress" and "Penny on the Train Track."

Tim Fite opened for BK last night. He's quite a character. He had incredible videos projected behind him, and was definitely fun and interesting to watch.



Catch BK and his trio at Southpaw again tonight for On My Way and on Wednesday for the self-titled Ben Kweller album. You won't be disappointed.
