Neon Bible: Success On the Charts

After endless hype (a 5-night stint at Judson Memorial Church, features in the NY Times, an SNL performance, an 8.4 P4K rating, etc...), Neon Bible has gone on to earn a #2 spot on this week's Billboard's 200.

According to Hits, the album sold 83,000 units last week, beating out Daughtry's self-titled debut and following Notorious B.I.G.'s Greatest Hits. I guess out-selling a long gone rapper was too much to ask for, but second place ain't shabby! 83k is definitely an impressive number in this digital age, especially with all the leaks going around. It was hard to resist getting the album early when it was all anyone could talk about.
