OC/Grey's Music Supervisor Forms New Label
We all have seen her work and you either love her.. or hate her. She's responsible for bring artists like Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse, Rooney, and The Killers into the mainstream. The woman behind what has been dubbed "The OC Effect," Alexandra Patsavas, inked a new deal with major label powerhouse, Warner Music Group, to form Chop Shop Records.Don't expect the major label partnership to influence the signings (or can we? Snow Patrol.. the Fray = shitty Grey's Anatomy music). "(The label) will be an extension of the kinds of artists that have been featured on 'The OC' and 'Grey' soundtracks," says Patsavas in the Yahoo article.
The label will be based in S. Pasedena, CA and "is expected to handled as many as three acts at the outset."
No signings have been announced yet.
Labels: Alexandra Patsavas, Chop Shop, Grey's Anatomy, The OC
