Bjork @ United Palace Theater
Last night [May 5th], Bjork played United Palace Theater, all the way up on 175th Street.

It was a pretty short set, about an hour in total, including her encore, but I was pretty hypnotized for that entire hour. After some belting behind the curtain, Bjork came out to open the show with "Earth Intruders." Later she performed her duet, "The Dull Flame of Desire," with Antony Hegarty from Antony and the Johnsons (youtube video below!). She also sang "I See Who You Are," with Min Xiao-Fen on the pipa, which is a Chinese lute.
But it was in the second half of the set that I really fell in love. After "Army of Me" and "Wanderlust" (from Volta), Bjork performed one of my favorite songs ever "Hyperballad." I saw her play it at Coachella, but I was a lot closer this time around and it was quite entrancing. It even had the house music ending that she did last time, which made the whole theater look as if it were a rave, complete with laser lights and all. It seemed like the same set she did on Wednesday at Radio City. Different costume though (this one was cuter!).
Try and catch her at The Apollo on Tuesday, May 8th if you can. It's worth the money.
Read this great NY Times article on Bjork, complete with MP3s.

I will upload my pics tomorrow.
