"Spiderman" the Musical

Looks like another superhero is coming to Broadway. In addition to Yoshimi, the Flaming Lips-created warrior tasked with fighting the evil-natured pink robots we reported last month, Spiderman will also be taking the stage, but with U2's Bono and Edge writing the music and lyrics for the show.

So calling all musical theater geeks, who know nothing about comics... start reading up! Auditions are taking place this summer. (via Broadwayworld.com)

"Producers are casting for the title role of teen superhero Peter Parker, as well as his sweetheart Mary Jane, the powerful spider-woman Arachne, scientist Norman Osborn (whose villainous alter ego is the Green Goblin), Daily Bugle publisher J. Jonah Jameson and a Geek Chorus, comprised of three teenage boys and one girl "who meet to ritualistically retell the greatest Spider-Man stories."
