Beirut To Release Sophomore Album

Beirut is almost set to release a follow up to the fantastic Balkan inspired album, Gulag Orkestar. The yet-to-be-titled 12-track album is tentatively due in September.

This album will be a departure from Gulag. In the Billboard.com article, Condon said, "The influences are coming from a different place; it's not heavily a Balkan aesthetic. I was listening to a lot of old French songs, but I'm taking it in my direction."

Following the release of Gulag, Condon released two EPs, Lon Gisland and Pompeii. The latter was released on eMusic. Also, his May 6-8 shows in NYC are sold out according to Billboard.
