This Week In Indie Rock
I've been busy this week with In The City stuff, and will update on all that later, but for now I'm jacking BV's style and setting you up with a bunch of links.
Spoon's new album Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga is now streaming in it's entirety at Merge. The White Stripes secret Icky Thump release show is on June 19th at Irving Plaza. You can get tix tomorrow starting at 10am at the Irving Plaza box office. Tix are $30. Get ready to camp out. New Pornographers tix for the July 4th Battery Park show went out to the first 500 subscribers on the River to River website. I missed out :( But more tix will be released on the 20th. Paul McCartney played a secret free show at Highline Ballroom. It was amazing. I was lucky to be there (my review coming soon). Franz Ferdinand played a short set at Bowery Ballroom. Feist played two shows at Town Hall. Kevin Drew was there the first night and they played "Lover's Spit" together. They'll BOTH be playing a show at McCarren Pool this summer. Bonnaroo starts today. Wilco, The Police, The Flaming Lips, The Hold Steady, Annuals and The White Stripes will all be there. Peter Bjorn and John will be playing with The Fratellis at Roseland Ballroom in September. What else am I missing?
