Finally! Someone Said It!

Do you really like the Arctic Monkeys? Do you like them enough to be able to articulate WHY you actually like their music? Personally, I don't understand the fascination with the Sheffield quartet. I got to the point where I even became self-conscious about my musical tastes... was there something wrong with me? Why am I the only one who does not like the Monkeys?

But finally, somebody said it... publicly! I felt vindicated after reading the Village Voice editorial entitled, "Nickelback U.K." by Garrett Kamps. Basically, the article said that the Arctic Monkeys, specifically their latest album "Favourite Worst Nightmare," are a good band, but they are definitely not the "band of ages" the UK has made them out to be.

It just turns out, that everyone was afraid to talk shit on the band. You'd swear it was 1984 or something! Every time I listen to their music, I'm left feeling like I've been gypped... almost like watching the 2nd season of Lost. The UK has hypped their (dare I say it!) mediocre band so much that you'd think it was the second coming of Jesus!

So everyone.... you can come out hiding now.
