YACHT Stuff

After much speculation about his dwindling involvement with the band, Jona Bechtolt (aka YACHT) has officially announced that he will no longer be a member of The Blow.

Jona Bechtolt, whose production skills, instrumentation, and beats can be found on The Blow's albums Poor Aim: Love Songs and Paper Television will no longer be a member of the band, in the studio or on the road - he is leaving in order to concentrate all of his energy on his primary project, YACHT. The Blow will continue on as the project of Khaela Maricich.

Although he is enormously proud of his work with The Blow, as well as happy for The Blow's continued success, he would like to clarify any confusion: the reason he was not on stage during any of this year's Blow performances is because he was performing live as YACHT, and working on his new YACHT album I Believe In You. Your Magic Is Real. which was released last month via Marriage Records.

That's kinda sad for The Blow, but I am really interested in seeing how YACHT develops. Haven't had a chance to see him live yet, but I hear it's great. Thoughts?
